Faculty/Staff: Transitioning to the LPR Permit
This article goes over how employees with a payroll deduction permit can transition their parking permit to the license plate recognition (LPR) system by adding vehicles to their account and adding vehicles to their permit.
Under the License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, no placards or stickers will be needed. The system will scan license plate information to verify if the vehicle is associated with a valid permit.
Parking will enter your permit into the system, but you need to add your vehicle information to your account. If a vehicle is not attached to a permit, it may result in a citation.
1.1. Log in to the campus portal.
- Type "parking" into the search bar.
- Select Parking Services.
1.5. Enter the vehicle license plate and select the plate type, state/province, and make of the vehicle from the drop-down menus. Then, click Next.
Vehicle year, model, color, and style are optional.
If there is no license plate, enter the full Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the VIN field and enter the last seven digits into the Plate Number field.
- Enter your Plate Number.
- Confirm your Plate Number.
- Select your Plate Type from the drop-down menu.
- Select your plate's State/Province from the drop-down menu.
- Select your vehicle's Make from the drop-down menu.
- Click Next.
1.6. The vehicle will be added to your account.
Vehicle details cannot be edited in the Parking Portal. To make changes, contact Parking and Transportation Services by submitting a Parking Inquiry Form.
2.1. Select Permits from the menu bar at the top of the page. Then, click View Your Permits.
- Click Permits.
- Click View Your Permits.
2.2. Select the LPR parking permit by clicking on the Permit Number.
If you have multiple permits listed, select the permit that starts with 26PD with the Effective Date 01/01/2024.
2.3. Click Add Vehicles to Permit.
2.4. Select the vehicle(s) that you want to add to your permit. Then, click Add the selected vehicle or add additional vehicles by clicking Add a new vehicle.
Only one vehicle is valid on campus per day. Additional vehicles parked on campus associated with the virtual permit may be subject to a violation.
- Place a checkmark next to the vehicle(s) that you want to add to your permit.
- Click Add the selected vehicle.
- If the vehicle you want to add to your permit isn't on your vehicle list, click Add a new vehicle to add it to your account. View instructions on how to add a vehicle to your account.
2.5. To remove a vehicle from your permit, click the Delete button.
Removing a vehicle from your permit does not remove it from your account. To remove a vehicle from your account, contact Parking and Transportation Services by submitting a Parking Inquiry Form.
